Day 1 Sunday Marrakech
Arrive Marrakech. WELCOME MORROCO !!!
Transfer from airport to hotel. Lunch at hotel.
Afternoon half day sightseeing tour of the city. Marrakech is the “Pearl of the South” founded by the Almoravides dynasty at the end of the 12 Century. Discovery of the souks of Marrakech and the Djemaa El Fna square. Visit to Menara gardens, the Koutoubia, and the Bahia Palace.
Optional dinner at a typical Moroccan restaurant with folklore show.
Overnight ZASBAH ZALAGH,Marrakech
Day 2 Monday Marrakech/Ouarzazate
Breakfast and departure to Ouarzazate through the Tichka Pass
(Optional lunch in Kasbah Ait Benhadou)
Proceed to visit of this fortified village, the most spectacular fortress in the south of Morocco
of glawa's land.
Afternoon continue to Ouarzazate, visit of Taourirt Kasbahs. (b,d)
Overnight KARAM PALACE, Ouarzazate
Day 3 Tuesday Ouarzazate/Zagora
After breakfast depart to Zagora via the Draa Valley (Draa Palm Grove). Whole day excursion to Zagora, Draa Valley and the village of Amzrou (an old Jewish village). Optional lunch.
Afternoon visit of M'hamid, the last settlement before the Sahara. (b, d)
Overnight KASBAH TINSOULINE, Zagora
Day 4 Wednesday Zagora/Rissani/Erfoud/Merzouga
Morning departure to Erfoud. Stop at Rissani; the capital of Tafilalt, where the Alawite Dynasty ancestors are buried, visit of the 17th century Kasbah and imposing ruins of KsarAbbar.
Continue to Erfoud. Drive by 4x4 wheel vehicle from Erfoud.and proceed into the Sahara Desert. En route you would stop at a fossil quarry and visit the lake. If there is water, you can witness a spectacular cluster of wild birds. Proceed to desert, the golden sand dunes of Merzouga, one of the unforgettable sights in Morocco where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. Switch to camels, and trek into the vast and silent Sahara, to a Berber camp for overnight. (b,d)
Overnight NOMADIC TENT, Merzouga
Description of Bivouac. On arrival at the camp, you would be greeted in a big nomadic tent (made with camel hair). On the ground: Carpets, tables and traditional chairs and lamps.
Light: Burning wood fire, storm lanterns and a light generator for the whole camp
Dinner: Meals are served on a round table for 6 to 8 passengers.
Sample of menu served during a seated bivouac dinner: Variety of Moroccan salads, tagine with chicken, lemon and olives, tagine with beef and prunes, kebab, seasonal fruits, mint tea and Moroccan pastries
Sanitary: Chemical toilets, toilets paper and soap, hot water, mirrors.
Day 5 Thursday Merzouga/Tinghir/Ouarzazate
To see Merzouga, no one ever regretted getting up at 5 am to witness the unique sunrise : admire and watch the pink disc of the sun appearing over the gigantic dunes of Merzouga.
After breakfast, morning departure to Tinghir via Tinejdad road with its magnificent Kasbahs.
Optional lunch. Visit of the Todra canyons. Continue to El Kelaa through the Dades Valley. Short sightseeing of El Kelaa, (Roses Festival in May).
Departure to Ouarzazate through the road of thousands Kasbahs. (b,d)
Overnight KARAM PALACE, Ouarzazate
Day 6 Friday Ouarzazate/Marrakech
Following breakfast depart to Marrakech.
Optional lunch or at the hotel.
Afternoon at leisure or an OPTIONAL half day excursion to Majorelle Garden or Ourika.
Overnight KASBAH ZALAGH, Marrakech
Day 7 Saturday Marrakech
After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech airport for departure.
